The Disney experience — without the Disney price tag
Explorers Hotel is located in Marne La Vallee, France. It has a humble “three star” rating, but truly it felt like a five star experience, with its own pool, nature walks, mini games room, and a equip soft play centre. It’s safe to say we both had the magical experience we were looking for here
Who is this hotel for?
I would absolutely recommend saying here with kids of all ages, from babies to teens. The pirate theme extends to the entire hotel making every second a grand adventure, from the amazing decor to the thematic dinner services. It’s very popular with families from all over the globe, many of whom are staying for the Disney Experience. Even couples without children can enjoy this hotel, as it has bars and peaceful walks surrounding the property.
Dining
We opted to include breakfast in our stay, and there were plenty of different foods to choose from for this very picky pair. For meal times there’s plenty of restaurant options, as well a selection of bars and vending machines around the hotel. The Candy’s Tavern also has plenty of sweet treats to choose from, however our favourite spot was the pizza bar on the ground floor. It’s situated in front of the giant pirate ship play area, and portion sizes are definitely not small.
Accommodation
The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, with over 200 rooms located in the hotel all of which to suit your party size. The rooms have bright and airy windows and all follow the pirate theme that is extended throughout the hotel. The only thumbs down were the lack of extra pillows as we visited during the busy Christmas season.
Easy to get to?
If you’re driving, taking the train or Disney’s Magic Bus, the hotel is very easily accessible. The train arrives outside of Disneyland and the free shuttle takes you directly to the door every 15-30 minutes. Alternatively the Magic Bus picks you up from outside the airport, and the 40-60 minute journey will help you to the door of the reception.
Is it in a good location?
Absolutely! The hotel is surrounded by greenery, so it’s very peaceful to walk around. Disneyland is less than 10 minutes away, as is the train which is direct to Paris
